Introducing a Brand-new Fundraising Event

Our Luncheon & Forum—Unhoused & Unhealthy—Barriers & Strategies to Healthcare addresses the cycle that many unhoused people go through for medical needs. This repeated cycle through ER's, clinics, hospitals, and facilities only to return once more to the streets is ineffective. We know there is a 60% higher mortality rate for these individuals that those that are housed. In January, 539 people were sleeping outdoors or in cars in RI alone. It's time we acknowledge the disparities, barriers and find strategies and solutions.

This event will feature a panel comprised of professionals who are developing creative ways to bring healthcare to the unhoused. Join us to learn how they are applying these strategies in their work and how you can too.

Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs has signed a bill that repeals the state's near-total ban on abortion. Two Republicans joined with all Democrats in the state Senate Wednesday in voting to repeal the 1864 law that was upheld by the Arizona Supreme Court last month. It bans all abortions except in cases where it's necessary to save the mother's life.        The lawyer who represented the two women at the center of Donald Trump's New York trial says there was no "hush money." Keith Davidson was the lawyer for both playboy model Karen McDougal and adult film star Stormy Daniels. The prosecution claims a 130-thousand dollar payment to Daniels was part of a "hush-money" scheme to influence the 2016 election.        Pro-Palestinian protests are continuing at college campuses across the country today. Early this morning, Los Angeles police moved in to clear an encampment on UCLA's campus. Law enforcement officials said more than a hundred people were arrested.        The judge in the Bryan Kohberger case has ruled two upcoming hearings on evidence will be closed to the public. The defense argued the hearings should be open to the public, because some of the evidence has already been publicly released. Prosecutors argued the evidence is sealed and making it public could impact whether it's a fair trial.        The American Civil Liberties Union is filing a lawsuit against the city of Chicago. On Thursday, the ACLU filed a federal suit claiming Chicago is unprepared for protesters who will be in the city for the Democratic National Convention in August. The spokesan for the ACLU of Illinois told reporters the city hasn't created a "clear, transparent plan" on how they will handle demonstrators.        The NBA Playoffs feature two game sixes tonight. First, the Milwaukee Bucks will look to fight off elimination when they play the Indiana Pacers. Then, the New York Knicks will attempt to knock out the 76ers in Philadelphia.
