Anthony Oliveira (age 34)

On April 12, 2024, the Providence County Grand Jury returned an indictment charging Anthony Oliveira with one count of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, resulting in serious bodily injury, one count of discharging a firearm while committing a crime of violence resulting in permanent incapacity, one count of possession of a large capacity feeding device, and one count of discharging a firearm within the compact part of the City of Pawtucket. 

 

The alleged acts occurred in the City of Pawtucket on or about February 1, 2023. The Pawtucket Police Department conducted the investigation.

 

The defendant is scheduled to be arraigned on April 18, 2024, in Providence County Superior Court.

 

Gino Rossi (age 28)

Woonsocket, RI

On April 12, 2024, the Providence County Grand Jury returned an indictment charging Gino Rossi with one count of first-degree domestic robbery, three counts of domestic assault with a dangerous weapon, one count of domestic strangulation, one count of simple domestic assault, one and one count of domestic kidnapping.

 

The alleged acts occurred in the City of Woonsocket on or about September 23, 2023. The Woonsocket Police Department conducted the investigation.

 

The defendant is scheduled to be arraigned on May 1, 2024, in Providence County Superior Court.

 

 

Jesus Martinez (age 22)

On April 12, 2024, the Providence County Grand Jury returned an indictment charging Jesus Martinez with one count of first-degree robbery and one count of conspiracy.

 

The alleged acts occurred in the City of Providence on or about October 25, 2023. The Providence Police Department conducted the investigation.

 

The defendant is scheduled to be arraigned on May 1, 2024, in Providence County Superior Court.

 

Eduardo Mercado (age 25)

On April 12, 2024, the Providence County Grand Jury returned an indictment charging Eduardo Mercado with one count of first-degree robbery, one count of conspiracy, and one count of possession of brass knuckles.

 

The alleged acts occurred in the City of Providence on or about October 25, 2023. The Providence Police Department conducted the investigation.

Steven Duarte (age 36)

On April 12, 2024, the Providence County Grand Jury returned an indictment charging Steven Duarte with two counts of first-degree robbery, seven counts of conspiracy, one count of assault with a dangerous weapon, one count of kidnapping, two counts of assault with a dangerous weapon resulting in serious bodily injury, and one count of assault of a person over 60 years of age.

 

The alleged acts occurred in the City of Pawtucket on or about January 14, 2024. The Pawtucket Police Department conducted the investigation.

 

The defendant is scheduled to be arraigned on May 1, 2024, in Providence County Superior Court.

 

Adam Dufault (age 35)

On April 12, 2024, the Providence County Grand Jury returned an indictment charging Steven Duarte with two counts of first-degree robbery, seven counts of conspiracy, one count of assault with a dangerous weapon, one count of kidnapping, two counts of assault with a dangerous weapon resulting in serious bodily injury, and one count of assault of a person over 60 years of age.

 

The alleged acts occurred in the City of Pawtucket on or about January 14, 2024. The Pawtucket Police Department conducted the investigation.

 

The defendant is scheduled to be arraigned on May 1, 2024, in Providence County Superior Court.

 

 

President Biden is marking the 70th anniversary of the landmark Supreme Court decision Brown v. Board of Education. The 1954 decision struck down institutionalized racial segregation in public schools that were billed as "separate but equal." Biden commemorated the event on Thursday by meeting with plaintiffs in the case and their family members in the Oval Office.        Intense thunderstorms in Texas led to four deaths and power outages in the Houston area. City officials confirmed the deaths Thursday night as powerlines and trees were knocked down across the city. Dozens of Texas counties are waiting out a high-risk warning for flash flooding through Friday. The NWS says the central and south portions of the state could see as much as nine inches of rain with this latest storm system.       The House is passing the TICKET Act, targeting "hidden fees." It aims to end "deceptive ticketing practices that frustrate consumers." Lawmakers say the legislation will increase transparency by requiring tickets' full cost to be disclosed upfront. It also looks to ban sales of tickets that sellers don't actually have, and guarantee refunds for event cancellations. The legislation now moves on to the Senate.       Former President Trump will be attending his youngest son's high school graduation today. Barron Trump is getting his diploma from Oxbridge Academy in Palm Beach, Florida, a prep school that boasts a 100-percent college acceptance rate. The former President will be there, and the school has asked the media and curious members of the public to stay away from the private invitation-only ceremony.       Airports around the nation are expected to be busier than ever this upcoming summer travel season. TSA officials expect a six to eight percent increase in air travel nationwide compared to last year's season. The TSA says there's a strong chance that on several days they may screen three million or more passengers in one day, which would be a record high.       Chris Kreider carried the New York Rangers to the Eastern Conference Final. The forward scored a third-period hat trick in less than 10 minutes to eliminate the Hurricanes 5-3 in Game Six of the second round series from Raleigh.
